Livingstone Beavers - Autom 2007 programme
3rd Upminster (Livingston)

Welcome back to Beavers below is our programme for this Term. We have two new leaders joining us this Term because as some of you know Falcon and Finch have moved up to cubs. We will still need Parents to sign up to our parent rota for helping on a Monday night. Rota is on our notice board in the Beaver Hall.

10th Sept 2007 Welcome to our new Beavers. Time to catch up with old and new friends (at hall) where we will be playing lots of fun games.

15th Sept 2007 Thriftwood is celebrating 50 years as a scout campsite. A big party is going to be held there, more information to follow.

17th Sept 2007 We will be comparing how well our sunflowers have grown over the (at hall) holidays so all those Beavers who planted seeds last term please bring in your Sunflower or take a picture and measure it so we can compare with the others.
We are also going to start work on our Imagination Badge by reading a Story and coming up with some ideas for our own story.

24th Sept 2007 Games Night - Pit your wits against other Beavers in a night of fun Board (in hall) Games.
We will also be continuing with the writing of our very own book.

1st Oct 2007 We will be starting on the illustrations for our book and continuing with (in hall) the story so far.

6th Oct 2007 Cubadoo - further details to follow

8th Oct 2007 THAMES CHASE - A night at Thames Chase, Pike Lane, Cranham, (out) Make a Lantern and go on a night walk around Thames Chase. There will be a small cost of £2.50 per Beaver for this activity.

14th Oct 2007 CHURCH PARADE (please bring your children along to the church hall for 10.15am).


15th Oct 2007 We are going to start our Emergency Aid 1 badge. A nurse is going to visit (in hall) and help us learn how to treat minor cuts, scratches and grazes and also show us how to keep a persons airway open


HALF TERM

29th Oct 2007 This is the start of ' Read with me week' so to complete our Imagination (in hall) Badge we will be reading a story and then making a junk model of the characters in our very own book. So bring along all your unwanted cardboard boxes and bottles for a fun night of junk modelling.

5th Nov 2007 We are going to paint and make firework pictures and models to celebrate (in hall) Guy Faulks night.

11th Nov 2007 CHURCH PARADE (please bring your children along to the church hall for 10.15am).

12th Nov 2007 We are going to do some role play at a scene of an accident, we will (in hall) discuss the dangers and then treat the patient. This will complete our Emergency Aid 1 badge

19th Nov 2007 Pit your wits against the other teams in some fun team games.

26th Nov 2007 Discovery Challenge Badge - Please bring along lots of different sorts of (in hall) materials for us to see how a magnet works. We are also going to attempt to change the colour of celery using food dyes.

2nd Dec 2007 District Beaver Christmas Party - A fun carol service followed by a party with food and entertainment, more details to follow.

3rd Dec 2007 We are going to make Christmas bits and pieces like cards, decorations etc.

9th Dec 2007 CHURCH PARADE (please bring your children along to the church hall for 10.15am).

10th Dec 2007 Christmas Party - come along to fun and games for Christmas(you never (in hall) know Santa might even turn up).


CHURCH PARADE is the second Sunday in the month 10.15am in the hall. Please make every effort to attend.

Notes:

Ÿ Subs are £29 per term and payment can be by cheque made payable to 3rd Upminster Scout Group or you can sign up for direct debit payment which means yours subs will automatically come out of your bank account on the 1st October, 1st February and the 1st June. We would very much like you to sign up for Direct Debit as this will cut down on a lot of paper work for all the volunteer leaders. (Direct Debit form attached)

Ÿ If you have any ideas or events that you think will be good for our Beavers please let me know.

Ÿ Don't forget to sign up to our Parent Rota for helping on a Monday night. This is very helpful as it does help to run the nights more smoothly.
