3rd Upminster Cubs (Wesley Pack)
Autumn Term 2006
13th Sept Games night but start to make the Harvest festival window
for for Sunday's church parade. Talk about the Global Challenge
for this terms theme.
Sun 17th 9.45 for a 10am new start time! Harvest festival service
.We hope to have made a map of Africa out of dried beans to be placed
in a church window. Please bring in tins or dry food stuffs which
will go to the East London mission.11am pick up in the hall.
20th Knots-and build a frame to catapult a ball down the hall.
27th Global Challenge recycling, What is right and wrong when recycling.
Each six to choose a country and list the facts. Paint or recycle
to depict your country.
4th Oct Night hike: Please arrive at Cranham Church for 6.30. But
pick up from the hall/den at 8-15pm. Please remember a water proof/torch/drink
and snack.
8th Church Parade: 10 am start so be there for 9.45 please. 11am
pick up. .
11th Global Challenge: We are going to use the computers in the
den to find out about Oxfam/The Red Cross/ Christian Aid etc. We
have an internet sign off form which will require a parent's signature.
18th We hope to have a visit to Wylies the vets in Upminster.
25th Half term holiday
but get ready for the Big Day out!
28th Sat 3rd Ups are going to have a full day out at Thriftwood
and undertake archery/cresta runs canoeing/rafts. We will firm up
the details after obtaining numbers, see below. Our Scouts will
be there too. 8am to 9.pm
1st Nov Harry Potter Night of games and skills. Our Beavers will
be with us and we start at 6.15 to 7.45pm.
12th Sun Church Parade: 10 am start so be there for 9.45 please.
11am pick up
15th Fathers and Sons evening at Thriftwood along with the Livingstone
pack. We will play a wide game have some supper and try a sing song
around the camp fire. Full uniform and warm clothing. 6.30 start
in the car park and 8.30 close.
23rd Illusions and body part evening!
29th Global Challenge, Recyclables games (Tins in the bucket/bottle
top football/skittles/ milk cup rugby and others.
3rd Sun 9.45am Church Parade and Toy Service. Please bring in a
toy which will be given to a needy child in London this Christmas.
6th How do tilley lamps and pressure stoves work? We are going
to find out and make a hot drink. We will also view the stars in
the back yard.
Sixers need to plan the Christmas party.
13th Global Challenge: Paper towers. Sixers to complete the party
arrangements.
20th Christmas party. Sixers to advise.
Church parade is the second Sunday in the month 10.45 in the hall.
Please make every effort to attend.

· Subs are £29 per term and payment is by cheque to
3rd Upminster Scout Group as the payee. You can sign up for the
Gift aid subs and reclaim the tax which is better for us.
· If you have any ideas or events for the cubs please let
us know.
· Full uniform unless otherwise stated. Please be smart.
