Programme – Autumn 2010

8^th September 10 – Welcome back boys!! – Games Night & Naming ceremony for “Alistair & Marcus” to give them their new Cub Leaders names. New Sixes to be sorted out and general “Mayhem” as usual.

(Note – Environmental Weekend forms should be handed in no later then next Wednesday the 15^th September 10 & “Bob a Job” Forms).

12^th September 10 - Church Parade– Meet in the hall at 09.45 for a 10.00 service. Pick up but in hall at 11.00, or why not stay afterwards for a cup of tea or coffee.

15^th September 10 – Start of our “Home Help” Badge. (Have you got your Environmental Weekend forms & “Bob a Job” Forms)?

18^th – 19^th September 10 – Environmental Weekend.– Details and forms have been emailed or handed out.

22^nd September 10 – We’ve off to “Thorndon County Park” where we’ll be carrying out our “Naturalist” badge......Wardens permitting.

29^th September 10 – Every good Cub Scout should know a knot or two? Learning Basic knots and hopefully being visited by 2 Gambian Scout Leaders over from Gambia. The Explorers visited Gambia last year and were welcomed by the very same visitors. They’ll be telling us a bit about their Scouting in Gambia.

6^th October 10 – We’re off again! Climbing at “Hargreaves” Scout Camp, and if we are lucky our Group Scout Leader “Roger” may cook us up his favourite bread and jam combo.....Go on Roger you know you want to?

9^th October 10– District Air Rifles Competition – Details to follow.

10^th October 10 - Church Parade“Harvest Festival”– Meet in the hall at 09.45 for a 10.00 service. Pick up but in hall at 11.00, or why not stay afterwards for a cup of tea or coffee. (After the service there will be a BBQ to celebrate the church’s 100^th year. So please stay behind for a burger or maybe two?)

13^th October 10 – We have a couple of things in the pot, but yet to be confirmed.??

20^th October 10– Father & Son night @ Thriftwood. Usual wide games where the boys take on their Dads, and where the Dads can show them who’s the Boss. A bit to eat and a sing song round the camp fire.

27^th October 10 – Half Term – No Pack Meet.

3^rd November 10 – One of my favourites“Harry Potter Night” with our Beavers. Lots of gunk and horrible slimy stuff……….YUM YUM.

Don’t forget there are house points to be won!

10^th November 10 – Night Hike over “South Weald County Park”. Please wrap up warm. Bring a torch and a snack. Hopefully our friends across the road will be joining us......The Dark Side....Livingstone Pack.

14^th November 10 – Remembrance Sunday “All Must Attend”– Haven’t got your faith badge yet? Make sure you make the effort to attend! Meet in the hall at 09.45 for a 10.00 service. Pick up but in hall at 11.00, or why not stay for a cup of tea or coffee.

17^th November 10 – Week One of our “Creative” Challenge Badge.

20^th November 10– District Cubs Quiz – Details to follow.

24^th November 10 – Week Two of our “Creative” Challenge Badge.

1^st December 10 – Final Week of our “Creative” Challenge Badge.

15^th December 10 – “It’s Party Night” Games, Food & Be Merry. Break for Christmas.

5^th January 10 – Return from Xmas Break – Games Night!

Fortunately we have no boys going up to Scouts after Christmas.

Letters will be sent out to parents with further details etc.

Notes.

• Subs are now £32.00 per term. Cheques made payable to “3^rd Upminster Scout Group” or ask for a standing order form.
• Church parade is every 2^nd Sunday, (except in December) 9.45 for 10.00 service. Please make every effort to attend. Full Uniform. 1 Hour duration and an offering for the plate.
• If you have any ideas or events for the Cubs please let us know.
• Full uniforms unless otherwise stated. Please be smart.
• If any parent who like to help out for an evening or would like to become a leader, please let us know. It’s not as scary as it looks……Cubs Honour!!!
